Channel intro

Hello, and welcome to the channel. Also welcome to my swing studio, which is definitely, absolutely not a green screen.

If the channel name didn't give it away, I'm Alex, and this is actually my second YouTube channel. On the other one I mostly talk about AI, app development and tech, so what I'm doing here is mashing that side of my brain together with the hobby I spend a frankly unreasonable amount of time on. Golf.

I'm based in Brighton on the south coast of the UK, and I'm a 9 handicap.

What this channel isn't

Don't worry, I'm not about to stroll into the swing studio and start handing out swing tips. I'm very much still working that out for myself. And it's not one of those channels where you watch flawless scratch golf either. Not yet anyway. Maybe one day, we'll see.

What it actually is

On my tech channel I made stuff for people just getting into AI and development, and I want to take a similar angle here. I'm just about single digits on a good day, and I've been through the full depths of golfing despair like everyone else who's ever picked up a club. Honestly I reckon that's a decent place to make this from, because I properly get the pain of being a mid to high handicapper. I hear you. I know exactly what you're going through.

So the plan is to put out stuff that's actually useful: little learnings, different ways of thinking about your game, and hopefully the odd easy win.

The apps

The other half of this is building. I've got a swing analyser, a stats app and a GPS app all on the go right now, and I'll document the whole journey as I go, the messy bits included.
